I can’t recommend staying here. I booked two rooms, and the AC in one barely cooled at all. I paid to upgrade to a Deluxe room hoping for better air conditioning, but that unit didn’t work properly either. It seemed very old and in need of replacement. With the weather so hot in Yogyakarta, I ended up sleeping sweaty. The rooms were reasonably clean, but there were very few amenities, not even shampoo or soap. I found ants in both the room and shower, and the room smelled of old wood. There’s no phone in the room, so you have to message staff on WhatsApp, and they don’t reply promptly. All in all, a bad experience.
Just what I needed after long days exploring Yogyakarta, an affordable place to get a decent rest. The rooms were clean, and the staff were helpful. It’s close to Prawirotaman, but still quiet and not too busy. The service was okay.
The garden was a highlight for me. After a long day walking and hiking, the waterfall sounds and birdsong were really calming. The location works well for a homestay style hotel, with shops all around, and both the Wi-Fi and water pressure were fine. The room was clean, the sheets and pillows felt fresh, and there wasn’t any odd smell. A couple of small things bothered me: there was only one easy-to-reach power outlet, and it was far from the bed. The other one was hidden behind the bed, so I had to move it to reach the outlet. There wasn’t a hairdryer, which I didn’t mind. It could also get loud around 4am because the hotel is very close to a mosque. I was okay with that, and started using it as my wake-up call before getting ready at 6.
The room felt natural and was clean, and the staff were friendly. It’s also conveniently close to Prawirotaman and Malioboro.
For the price, the room was spacious and clean, and the bathroom was clean too. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Breakfast was on the small side, just a coffee and a little omelette. The main thing to be aware of is the mosque across from the hotel. Its loudspeakers sounded every night at 4am, and it was very loud.
