Bhumi Hostel

The food stalls by the soccer field were a highlight, and there’s jamu right next door. Bhumi is in Kotagede, so you’re right by a lively, authentic community. We loved the Indonesian breakfast, the shared spaces, and how spotless everything was. Can’t wait to return!

I miss this place already. It feels like staying at my grandma’s, and the rooms, atmosphere, service, and people were all great. Bhumi Hostel’s going to be my second home in Yogya, and I’ll stay here whenever I visit. I had an iced americano at the cafe, "Kedai Sugih," and it was really good. Nearby, I also found "lalapan lele" with sambal that was super hot and delicious.

I’ve stayed at Bhumi Hostel twice, and both visits left me with a warm feeling. The staff are humble and friendly, and were ready to help with local tips or getting around. It’s in Kotagede, a quieter change from the crowds of Malioboro, with old temples, traditional markets, and plenty of local culture to explore. The cafe is a lovely part of the stay, with homemade food, great coffee at very affordable prices, and friendly staff who had helpful suggestions when I was hungry. Pelangi was especially cheerful and energetic, and everyone else on the team was kind and helpful too. I also appreciated the little souvenir at checkout. The jazzy playlist made a nice atmosphere, with the volume just right. Bhumi Hostel is a gem in Jogja, highly recommend!
