D'Talent Hotel

The balcony view was beautiful, and the location was handy, near Malioboro, food stalls, and laundry services. Still, my family and I won't stay here again. For us, it wasn't worth the visit. We'd booked a superior room with several beds months ahead, but the receptionist first tried to put us in a small room with one bed. He was slow to greet us and didn't respond to our calls for about ten minutes. He seemed to ignore us, and didn't know which rooms guests were assigned to, saying only his boss knew. After calling his boss, he offered the wrong room. That was frustrating. He also knew guests were taking up two parking spaces with one car, leaving too little room for others, but just sat at the desk and did nothing. The Wi-Fi kept flickering on and off and wouldn't work despite our repeated login attempts with the passwords we were given. The main shower only gave steaming hot water and wouldn't mix with cold, so we had to combine hot and cold water from the basin tap in a large basin. Some plugs in the superior room didn't work, and the kitchen tap had never been maintained and didn't work either. The windows wouldn't close, so mosquitoes could get in while you slept. Bring a klamboe for a more peaceful night.

The receptionist didn't apologize when we reported the cockroaches. We saw five in the bathroom, which was unacceptable, so we canceled the room and left straight away without even asking for a refund. I've never written such a bad review before. It's a shocking experience, especially in Yogyakarta, where hospitality is supposed to be paramount.

The garden and parking area behind the hotel are quite spacious, and for a standard one-star stay it works well if you only need a night or two. Two thumbs up for that. Still, room 101 had very little water pressure and the air conditioning didn't work at all. The dining room ceiling was blackened with something, and the awning over the backyard swing needs replacing. I hope the owner can improve the hotel's condition.

The room was really roomy and comfortable, which made my first stay here a lovely surprise. I was amazed by D'TALENT HOTEL and hope I get to come back someday. Thanks so much, D'TALENT HOTEL.
