SPOT ON 91916 Joglo Doyong Homestay Syariah

The room was tiny and the dirtiest I've ever seen. The host was far from kind or friendly. After we'd paid online through agoda, they tried to charge us more for a three-hour stay. We only needed a room to wait for the train, and it got sorted after we argued about it. There were spider webs everywhere, dust, and rust. It's also far from the main road. Don't waste your time or money staying here.

The atmosphere felt like stepping back into the old days, and the man was really friendly. We stayed for two days and two nights, and it suited the three of us introverts perfectly. I'd recommend it for introverts.

For 150 thousand rupiah, I got a sagging bed, dusty table, smelly sheets, no mirror, and a really messy room. The plywood walls were on both sides, and I only lay down for seven hours. Oh my, I'm never staying here again. Vclub Hostel is a better option, with friendly service, soft mattresses, and AC around the clock for 200 thousand rupiah, LOL.

The location is excellent: close to the station, an easy walk to Malioboro, and there's a mosque right across the road. Mr. Kliwon, who looks after the place, is kind and likes to chat. Coffee and tea are free, though you make your own hot water. The room is ordinary, in an old house that's been made into a guesthouse. It's very suitable for backpackers. If they managed it more seriously and improved the cleanliness, it would be even nicer.
