Dosare Hotel Malioboro

The bathroom was the biggest problem for me. It was extremely dirty, with pubic hair on the sink and elsewhere, a wet floor, no bath mat, stains from dirty shoes, mold on the wall, and lots of toilet flies. There was no hot water, which I could accept, but the bathroom still needed to be clean. I didn't take photos because I didn't want them sitting on my phone until I checked out. I hope they'll pay closer attention to it. I stayed more than seven nights. I never asked for room makeup, only a towel change, but staff forgot twice. I had to carry a dirty towel down to reception and ask for a replacement. The staff seemed unprofessional to me, laughing and playing on their phones at reception, and more focused on the Photo Booth guests than hostel guests. At 6 AM each morning, housekeeping made the room feel like an earthquake. I understood they had new guests coming, but I also saw one housekeeper lying on a bed and using a phone, with dirty towels, a bedsheet, dust, and trash left in front of my door. That wasn't nice. The room itself was acceptable and had a smart lock, but it was hot. Agoda's website said there was AC in the room, while there was only a small fan inside and AC in the public area. They should make that clear. After a male staff member changed another for me in front of the AC, the room was a bit better than before. Staff were okay otherwise. I wondered why there were so many positive reviews when these problems were easy to see during a stay. I didn't move to another hostel because it was my last week in Indonesia after almost a month here. This was the worst hostel I've ever stayed in. If you're there only one night and don't shower, it might be good, but that wasn't my situation. I don't like leaving bad reviews because I know the effect they can have, since I work in the same industry. I hope they pay more attention. Thanks :)

For a solo trip, this capsule hotel seems like a good option. The price is affordable, the service was good, and the facilities were great. The toilet and shower were clean, and the capsule uses card access, so I didn't have to worry about my luggage. There was a pillow and blanket, the atmosphere felt warm, and the wifi was fast. The rooftop has a view of malioboro and is a nice place to relax. I had a great experience.

The location is 10/10, easy to find, only a few meters from the train station and right along Malioboro. Dosare went beyond what I expected. I've stayed in different capsules across Asia, but this one felt unique because it has its own private CR. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. They also provide free coffee, tea, water, and breakfast.

Their Srikandi room has a private bathroom, which you don't find at other capsule hotels I've stayed in. It's around 200 thousand rupiah, more or less. The hotel is right in the middle of malioboro street, and the rooftop faces the street too, so make sure to check it out.
