Greenhost Boutique Hotel

The hotel’s central hall, vines, and greenery give it a distinctive feel, and the pool was a real highlight: roomy, good for swimming, and relaxing. We got an early check-in, which was much appreciated. Our room had air conditioning, a TV, complimentary water, and a comfortable bathroom. Breakfast offered lots of choice and plenty to eat, and there are restaurants, bars, and lively nightlife nearby. We were disappointed by the gym access. It was already quite basic, with old, worn machines, and on one of our two days we couldn’t use it because a wedding blocked the only route through the event area. We hadn’t been told in advance. When we asked, staff said it would open again after 1 PM. Since the gym was advertised as a hotel service, we felt staff showed little concern that we couldn’t use it. Noise was another issue. Kitchen and central hall sounds came through early in the morning. Above the bathroom mirror there was an open space instead of a closed window, so noise from the hallway and restaurant carried straight into the room.

The greenery throughout makes it feel truly eco friendly, and the service was warm and attentive. My room was comfortable, though it didn’t have a hair dryer. The front desk found one for me on the second day, which was thoughtful. Breakfast had a nice mix of local and Western food. Around the hotel there are interesting boutiques and cafes, with wall art everywhere.

Agung, the hotel manager, and the rest of the staff made us feel at home and had good tips on places to visit. Thanks for that. We enjoyed the clean, comfortable rooms, and the air conditioning worked a treat. There’s also a gym, pool, and massage booking option. We didn’t get around to using most of them, mainly because we were short on time and wanted to explore Yogyakarta.

I’d had this hotel on my wishlist ever since I stumbled across it, so I booked for my solo trip from 8/2-11/2. It lived up to my high expectations. The room was really spacious and nice, and the staff were wonderful, helpful, and provided good service. I’d definitely book again if I come back to Jogja.
