We left just five minutes after arriving. The place was very dirty, the sheets were covered in stains, and the bathroom looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned. We’d booked this homestay because it was the cheapest in Yogya, but if you want a clean bed, look elsewhere.

There’s no breakfast, though you can easily find food nearby since the place is close to a traditional market. They provide drinking water from a shared dispenser, plus coffee and tea. It’s also right in central Yogyakarta, with the train station and Malioboro Street only minutes away. One of the best affordable places to stay near Monument Yogyakarta.

The location is handy for walking to several interesting spots, including a food court and Kranggan Market. I liked the local feel, and the host was friendly and happy to chat for hours, sharing useful information about the area and Jogja along with lots of interesting stories.

For just 60 rupiah, this homestay is a really good deal. There’s Wi-Fi, a decent TV, a fan, and a private bathroom inside. A solid option if you’re traveling on a budget.
