For the price, I think it’s worth it. The best parts are how close it is to the station, about a ten-minute walk, and how affordable it is. Finding it can be awkward if you’re new to the area and arrive late. It’s reached through narrow alleys off the main road, and a stranger who offered to help followed us insistently all the way to the entrance. Keep an eye out for the big sign once you’ve turned the right way. There’s a decent bike rental about two minutes away, and you can ride right to the hotel and park there. The lobby was clean and pleasant, and the staff were polite. At least one man could help us in English. We let them know by text that we’d arrive late, and they checked us in at midnight without a problem. They also kept our luggage after checkout. Tea and coffee are complimentary in the lobby, although the flies buzzing around might put off Western visitors. The coffee is coarse, which is the popular style here. Our room was very small and basic, with a bed, toilet, and shower. There was no shampoo or conditioner, but toilet paper and body soap were provided, and the AC worked well. We saw little roaches or ants, which seem hard to get rid of in Java. The baseboards and covers looked clear of bedbugs, so we weren’t worried about those. People came and went at all hours, and it’s in the busy city center, so noise could be an issue if you’re sensitive. We slept fine.
