The hosts were lovely and really tried to make the stay easy. The room had air conditioning and a fan, plus useful extras like toothbrushes, earplugs and shampoo. They also shared local information, and it’s a great base for visiting Yogyakarta.

The homestay sits in a kampong, but the neighborhood felt pleasant and friendly. You enter through an alley opposite Sono Budoyo Museum, and it’s easy enough to locate. Just switch off motorcycles when riding in so the neighbors aren’t disturbed. We arrived around midnight after confirming things with the owners. Nobody answered when we rang twice, but then we noticed our name had already been put on the door. Inside, the room felt comfortable right away, with a thoughtful layout, amenities and little artistic touches. In the morning we met Mas Roli, Mbak Lala and their energetic, adorable little one. They were warm and welcoming, reminded us about breakfast, and made it with real care. It was delicious, and they even adjusted it to our requests. We felt at home enough to extend our stay to three nights. A NOMORE drama stay 😋🏡😴, memorable and well worth planning for a visit to Jogja.
