The receptionist was very friendly, and the service was much better than I expected for such a cheap price. Dorm beds were IDR 70,000, or $6, with breakfast and an ensuite bathroom included. You can choose a men's dorm, a mixed dorm, or a private room. Breakfast is Western-style, and the bathroom has both hot and cold showers.

We felt very comfortable here. It’s a quiet, house-like hostel with clean facilities, a garden to sit in during the day, and a 24/7 guard, so our belongings felt safe. Breakfast was simple but good, with toast, hagelslag, and fruit. The palace is about a half-hour walk away; for Prambanan, take bus 1A and walk about 200m in total. Great value for the price. Say hi to the house cat, she’s sweet and playful.

The kitchen and breakfast were nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful. You can sometimes hear people praying, but that’s normal there, so I don’t have an issue with it. It’s a laid-back place and I’d come back.

There are plenty of rooms with a nice feel to them, and they were clean. The staff were friendly, too. The location is convenient, near Keraton Pakualaman and other tourist spots. Worth trying.
