The bed was comfortable, and there was free water, tea, and coffee. I liked the quiet little garden and the friendly owner and staff, plus it’s about a 15-minute walk to the royal palace. Breakfast tasted good and was Indonesian-style, though it was the same each day; the vegetarian choice just meant leaving out the meat. Sound carries a bit, so light sleepers may hear the mosque or other guests talking. Cleanliness could be better: the sink wasn’t clean when we arrived. You have to ask for room cleaning and fresh towels, and leave your key with the staff.

The room was roomy enough for three of us, with a double bed and an extra bed, and it came with complete amenities. We paid 435,000 Rupiah a night and got breakfast with Yu Djum's gudeg. Alhamdulillah, it was great. I was unsure at first whether the place would meet expectations, but it turned out clean and well cared for. The homestay has a real Yogyakarta feel, sits in the palace complex near the city center, and makes it easy to get around. As retirees visiting with friends, we thought it was good value. The owner and receptionist were both pleasant and welcoming. Thanks, Rumah Kami, for the lovely service. Wishing you continued success.

From outside it looks like a plain single-story house, but inside there’s a really cozy feel and a courtyard in the middle. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and I felt so at ease that I forgot to take photos 🙈. A great pick if you want to stay near Alun-alun Kidul.
