Pan Family Hotel

A café, I think, is next to the homestay, and the area there can get crowded in the evenings. I was fine with it since the sound never got loud enough to keep me from sleeping. The city center is far away, so expect extra commuting time. The room was spacious, though it didn’t look like the photos, especially the walls. I think every room has a porch, but the chairs were dusty, like nobody used them. Service was okay, though maybe I’m just not used to homestays. You have to hand over your key before leaving if you want the room cleaned.

The room was a highlight, with big windows overlooking the garden and a private fish pond. You can walk around the pond and see the surrounding plant nursery. It would be even better for kids if fish food were provided. There’s no breakfast for guests, and the hotel is a little hard to find, but the spacious room and huge bathroom still make it worth four stars.

We stayed for three nights two weeks ago, my girlfriend and I, and I thought this hotel was awesome. It sits a little way in from the main street, which gives it a relaxing, quiet feel with an authentic Javanese atmosphere.

The Standard Super room was good value for the money, but there were lots of little flying insects and they got a bit annoying.
