The location worked well for us, with a pleasant cafe across the street and a good canteen nearby. The room itself was quiet, had a window and A/C, and the bed was fairly comfortable. For the lowest-priced place we’d stayed in so far, the quality was okay, and the room was clean. But the A/C barely worked, and the bathroom was old, unattractive, and dirty, with water-damaged doors. Ants kept appearing there. Staff cleaned them when we asked, but they returned a few hours later; our mosquito repellent kept them away for another two days, so we ended up dealing with them ourselves. We also saw a large rat running around, so I can’t call the place clean. There was no hot water in the shower either, which made staying more than a night or two unpleasant.

We felt comfortable throughout our stay. The guest house was lovely and tidy, with a good bed and a clean bathroom, and it had everything we needed. It’s close to the Palace of Yogyakarta, as well as the area’s casual eateries and shops.

We booked for July 20-23, 2023, and the traditional room was both comfortable and unusual. Its style brought the past to mind. There’s a large parking area, plus the "Kopine Eyang" cafe next door if you’d like coffee. Mineral water and tea are provided free.

The location is generally good, not far from the Palace, and they did fix the broken showerhead. What bothered me was the noise: guests stood outside all the rooms talking loudly until late. I really dislike places with no rules to help guests respect one another, so that’s why I’ve given this rating.

The land lady was so welcoming, and the atmosphere had a lovely classic feel. It was peaceful and affordable, and after a long journey it really felt like coming home. I loved staying here.
