Sans Hotel Ekkon Yogyakarta

The location was good, the sheets were clean, and the staff were warm. I could put up with the downsides and give it an extra star for those things. Still, there were several stains on the floor that I found awful, and an unpleasant smell under the bed, where I spotted three or four cockroaches. It's a budget hotel with a nice interior and a friendly price, but that was rough.

The lobby is the only place with Wi-Fi, and they also sell snacks and toiletries. There's no elevator, so expect to use the stairs, though I didn't mind. I booked for the low price, then upgraded to their best room. For a small price difference, it was much bigger and had a window with a view of Jogja.

We stayed for two nights and had a great time. The bed was comfortable, the staff kind, and the facilities clean. The location was nice too. Her room didn't have a wardrobe, but that was okay. That must be part of the students' friendship value.

The room couldn't be locked from the inside, which worried me for safety. When we asked reception, he said it was an automatic lock. We know it locks automatically from outside, but what if someone with a card opens it while we're inside? He said we didn't understand automatic locks, which was impolite. The bedcover was dirty, the hot water didn't work, and the receptionist was unfriendly. There wasn't any toilet paper either. When I asked, he handed me tissue from reception. Don't they keep supplies? Stupid.
