Hotel Sekar Ayu

We were exhausted after coming out of the hospital, so we didn't start a discussion about the room. It looked nothing like the pictures. The bathroom was heavily mouldy, the smell was awful, and bugs and insects were everywhere because the doors wouldn't close properly. There were no blankets, and mattress springs were poking out. Normally I don't leave bad reviews because they can affect a business or person, but what happened here felt like a horror movie, “save my holiday: titel of the movie.” Booking sites, please remove this place from your listings. DON'T BOOK HERE, YOU'LL REGRET IT IF YOU DON'T LISTEN TO ME!

Really bad, dirty, smelly, and full of insects, especially in the bathroom.

Good location, and the bed and bathroom looked clean at first. But what you couldn't see at a glance was filthy, and there was rot in the sink. The staff didn't speak English and the Wi-Fi didn't work. I was really disappointed.

The room is spacious, and having a refrigerator in it was handy for keeping drinks cold. It’s a good, inexpensive hostel near Malioboro Street. With the traffic so bad, walking there is better than taking a car or becak. A Grab bike or Gojek motorbike is another option. There’s no breakfast or hot water, but I’d recommend the place.
