The freshly cooked breakfast was amazing, and our host was wonderful. She was super helpful and shared some nice tips and recommendations for the area. Staying at Hy Breasal B&B made us appreciate Achill even more. I can't recommend it enough if you're nearby!

We stayed two nights in our motorhome in June 2025. The site is quiet and conveniently close to the bridge linking Achill Island with the mainland. The owners are friendly and welcoming. There's space for a couple of dozen units, with a grassy area in the middle for tables and seating, which was nice to see. The pitches themselves are mostly a gravel car park, with twelve EHU connections at two points. If the site is busy, some spots may need very long cables. The facilities are rustic, but the toilets and showers were clean, as you'd hope, and the showers have full controls. Each gender specific area has two showers and one toilet. There's also a large separate disability room. The kitchen is thoughtfully set up, with two sinks, plenty of hot water, a good sized table and chairs, washing and drying machines, a wall mounted CD player, and table and other family games. There were several B&B guests during our stay, and I got the impression that's where the owners focus more of their effort. I feel the site could become a real gem if the pitches were individually landscaped. That might attract people with caravans as well as camper vans, giving them a base to explore the island by car and stay for several days instead of just a night or so.

A fantastic stop for a motorhome, with kitchen, toilet, shower, electricity and waste disposal all included for 25 euro a night. Shops and a bar are close by.

We had another fantastic stay at Hy Breasal. Marie is a great host, the location is great, and the sea is close by. Breakfast was superb. Highly recommended.

We stayed one night for a family wedding and absolutely loved the place. It was very quiet, nice and clean. Maire welcomed us so warmly that it felt like visiting our own mother. We'll be back when the mountains are less foggy.
