Irene made us feel like family, and we slept better here than anywhere else on our trip so far. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the rooms were quiet and clean. Breakfast was filling and really tasty; you can tell she used to own a restaurant. She was so warm and welcoming, a great cook and a wonderful host. Thanks again, Irene, for such a lovely stay. We hope to return soon, see more of the area, and will book again.

We stayed in one of the cabins behind Hillhead house, and it was comfortable with everything we needed. The place was spotless and beautifully decorated. Irene's home baked bread and breakfast were great. I'd highly recommend Hillhead house.

Irene made my short stop in Ardara one of my favorite stays on my trip through Ireland. She welcomed me, showed me the room, explained how everything worked, and suggested dinner and things to do so I could make the most of my time there. The room was very clean, with a private bathroom that worked well. In the morning she made a fantastic full Irish breakfast, or porridge. I highly recommend Hillhead House if you're traveling through.

Irene was a lovely host, and her local advice was useful. I took her suggestion for Slieve Liag boat trips and coffee shops around town, and was glad I did. The rooms are a good size, and at 6'8" I had no trouble with the room or shower. It's also not far from the tourist sights near Ardara.

Irene was kind and organized, and still made time to chat while looking after several guests. We loved the tasteful, comfortable place, and her generous breakfasts were delicious. The village pubs are within walking distance, and she also suggested good restaurants and things to do nearby. Another stellar Irish wandering for us. Thank you, Irene.
