Cliff House Hotel

So blissful. We had a beautiful lunch in the bar, then soaked in a hot bath looking out at the Celtic sea. The staff were amazing, and so was the food. Such a joyful experience.

I enjoyed the hot pool, but the rest of our Deal for the Day spa visit was disappointing. When we got to the pool area it was freezing, and it took about 20 minutes for the heating to come on. I’d booked an hr spa treatment, a neck, shoulder back massage with mini facial. The treatment room was cold too, even though there was a radiator, it was off. The therapist’s hands were cold, so it was hard to enjoy the treatment after being cold and out of the pool. Lunch itself was good, but we waited around 30 minutes for the chips we’d ordered. When they finally arrived, we were told the chef would need to make a fresh batch and it would be another 30 minutes if we still wanted them. We declined, since our food had already been served and we’d waited long enough. I wanted to share my experience so you’re aware.

The visit ended up being lovely, with delicious food, a fabulous view, and friendly staff inside the hotel. But the doorman made a really bad first impression. He rudely barked, “park the car and give me your keys,” without explaining anything or saying please or thank you. I would have left after that, but it was my grandmother’s birthday celebration and she wanted to treat us to lunch.

Dinner was the highlight for me. The tasting menu at The Cliff House Hotel was a real culinary journey, beautifully presented and full of flavour. It was easily the finest dining experience I’ve had. My room was a cozy, stylish place to unwind, and the staff were warm, professional, and welcoming from the start. The hotel has breathtaking views and a relaxed atmosphere. It felt luxurious without being stiff, and I can’t wait to return.
