The staff were AMAZING, and the quiet, remote feel near the beach was peaceful. It’s really in the middle of nowhere, though, with few food options nearby and a steep uphill walk to reach them. Breakfast was okay, nothing special. The rooms got very hot even at the lowest heat setting, and the shower water stayed too hot as well. I’d still come back.

The pool was a hit with us, and the kids enjoyed the room set up with games. We came for a couple of days with our two children and found the rooms ideal for us. It’s a beautiful hotel, the food was top class with plenty of choice for all ages, and the staff were exceptional and well trained. A great family base for exploring West Cork.

After my return coach, I waited in the lounge and got to hear a trio play traditional Irish music. It made for a memorable St. Patrick’s Day. Earlier, I’d arrived by coach at sunset, with just enough time to walk to the beach. The front desk ladies and housekeeping staff were exceptionally kind, and tea and biscuits in the room were welcome after the stroll. My suite was clean, comfortable and quiet, and I slept well. Breakfast is available on site for €15. In the village, there are other places to eat and a small grocery. Stop by Nora at the craft and consignment shop for gifts and a chat, and look out for the history plaques around the village. West Cork Connect was a great way to arrive.

We had a fairly large family gathering here with a private dinner, and everything went great. I’ve worked in the industry for decades and was very impressed by how easygoing and professional the staff were. I can thoroughly recommend the Celtic Cross Hotel.

We stayed four nights in July. The breakfast was unreal, and I couldn’t fault either the rooms or the staff. The pool was a good size, and the girls at the kids club were great. We were always on the go, so didn’t eat at the restaurant. Would definitely stay again.
