Elizabeth was lovely to deal with and even helped arrange a taxi back for us after a wedding. The hotel is fabulous and really unique, with beautiful decor. We had such a nice stay at The Lawrence, and breakfast the next morning was fresh and absolutely delicious.

They treated us like family from the moment we arrived until we left. The Lawrence is an astonishing place, very family-oriented, and the staff are delightful. My room had a fabulous look and style, and I thought the sewing kit in the bathroom was such a cute touch. 10/10 stay!

Breakfast was fab, and Elizabeth was so friendly, going out of her way to make us feel welcome. We were going to a wedding at Clonabreany House nearby, and she let us use an extra room for free to get ready. Absolutely fabulous, highly recommend.

The front looks like any other small Irish pub, but head towards the back and it's a whole different style, a stunning 1920s boutique hotel. There's a lovely residents' area where you can relax by the fire, and the rooms have gorgeous decor and comfy beds. We arrived late and had the chicken supreme. It was cooked perfectly, beautifully presented, and amazing to eat. The food is to die for. Breakfast was freshly cooked for each guest, so much better than the buffet style at most places. Liz is a lovely, welcoming host who'd do anything to make you feel at home. This place is a gem, and we'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a treat.

It took me eight months to write this and come to terms with what my family and I went through at The Lawrence. My sister treated me to birthday dinner in December. The evening started with a panicked, confused seating arrangement and a 40-minute wait for our first drinks. That wasn't enough to ruin the night by itself, but it was obvious staff had been told to focus on a much larger party. Over the four hours, things descended into chaos. Every drink, four each, took nearly an hour to arrive. The main courses were badly overpriced and lukewarm. I've eaten at a four-star restaurant, and this was nothing like that. There were also several breaches of Covid rules during the second wave. The restaurant was packed, and my parents decided it was safer to leave. When we asked for the bill three times, Liz stormed off and didn't come back. My father, a pensioner who uses a walking aid, went to the bar to pay. She seemed agitated and was shouting at him. I went over to see what was wrong and was met with aggressive abuse for politely raising the long waits between drinks and courses. Liz swore at my elderly father, who only wanted to settle the bill and leave. Most of the staff looked no older than 16 and kept forgetting our orders, though they were hurrying past every few minutes to serve the huge table. My parents were left dumbfounded and mortified. It felt like an evening at Faulty Towers, minus the humour. Avoid this place at all costs.
