Lodge at The Old Barracks

We haven't stayed yet, but their customer service was worth writing about. I accidentally booked our room for the next day instead of April. Before the supposed check-in, they got in touch, which is how I realised my mistake. Even though it was entirely my fault and less than 24 hours before the booked stay, they kindly fixed the reservation date. Thank you!

We were only there for one night on a road trip around Ireland, and wished we could have stayed longer. Everyone we met on arrival and throughout the stay was so welcoming. The room looked lovely and had everything we needed, and the bed was really comfortable. We had to get back on the road early, so the woman working in the restaurant gave us fresh pastries and coffee for breakfast. If we're back in the area, we'll stay here again.

The breakfast is outstanding, and the service was impeccable. We were here with work colleagues for the second time, on our annual overnight trip, and are already planning the next visit. The rooms are spotless and the beds really comfortable; staff are friendly and efficient. There's a car park, and the train station is about a 10 minute walk away. Cosy bars with live music are right in the town centre, and their sister restaurant Stone House Pizza serves the best pizza.

The front of the buildings, with the stone and paintwork, looks lovely, like something on a postcard. We had great service, a very tasty breakfast, and a lovely place to stay.
