We brought our one-year-old and felt so welcome from the moment we arrived. The owners and staff were lovely. I’ll be staying here again next time.

After a Sunday beach trip on 28/09, we stopped in for dinner. The service and staff were faultless, and finding dairy-free ice cream made my day. I usually have to miss out.

The sea views from the coast are stunning, and the beach is an easy, scenic walk away. We also loved the food: fresh local ingredients, thoughtful preparation, and delicious meals, from breakfast with the sea breeze to dinner at sunset. The welcome was warm as soon as we arrived, and everyone on staff made an effort to help us feel at home. The Cliff House Hotel was a lovely mix of comfort and hospitality, and we’re looking forward to coming back.

Fiona, Kevin, and the whole staff were so gracious and helpful during my two-night stay. I had a very difficult day after travel problems before I arrived, and their warm welcome made things easier. I’m deeply grateful for the care they showed and how much they helped make my trip the best it could be. The room was spacious, with a lovely view over Ballybunnion and the ocean. The restaurant was excellent, with traditional dishes alongside locally sourced specials. It’s a quiet seaside spot, with the beach and cliffwalk just outside and downtown Ballybunnion a short walk away. I’d give them 20 stars if I could.

It used to be a really nice hotel with delicious food, but my experiences with Fiona have left me advising people to think twice before going. The owners barred me, and Fiona told me the news. I still don’t know of any solid reason. Some bar staff told her I’d been rude, but I wasn’t, and the hotel has never apologized. A few years later, while I was thumbing a lift to Listowel, she was rude to me again and said she’d stop the car and make me get out. I don’t even know why I got into the car in the first place. She blames everyone else and never apologizes when she’s wrong.
