Coastguard Lodge Hostel

We stayed one night in a clean room with its own bathroom and a lovely ocean view. The beds were very comfortable. We made breakfast in the shared kitchen and ate outside while enjoying the scenery. The pub is a great spot for a pint or two. Highly recommended!

We slept so well here, and it was wonderfully quiet at night. The rooms are comfortable, and the hostess was really friendly. The hotel is in a tiny coastal village, right beside a beach, and I loved the setting. The pub serves good evening food, including fish and chips. Finding the breakfast room was a bit confusing: as the hostess explained, you have to go around the hotel and past the pub, but we had expected signs. Breakfast was decent and got us going, though nothing special. I’d happily stay again if I get the chance.

The rooms are good, the view is great, and the bar food and drinks are decent. Breakfast was the one problem: mostly microwaved eggs, one sliced mushroom, and white toast. The server didn’t seem very interested, so we had to go into the kitchen to ask for things missing from our table. I’d skip breakfast here and eat elsewhere.

The people here are so welcoming and friendly, and the drive in is gorgeous, with hills full of sheep. It was just what I imagined Ireland would look like. My husband and I had an amazing view from our room, and it reminded us of Hawaii. Such a beautiful place, well worth a holiday or even a weekend away.
