White Sands Hotel

We stayed for just one night in October during storm Amy, after several hours cycling through torrential rain in completely soaked gear. Check-in was extremely quick and efficient, which was very welcome. Our twin room was spotless and roomy enough, with plenty of tea and coffee, lots of hot water and a powerful shower. The restaurant had a limited menu near the end of the season, but the portions were generous and the food was excellent. Since we needed an early start before the storm got worse, the staff opened the dining room early for us. I’d recommend stopping here for a night or longer if you’re touring the Wild Atlantic Way by bike.

The bar was packed and had a great atmosphere, and all the food was top class. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were small but practical, and most importantly, spotless. We’ve already booked for next year.

It’s right on the beach, with a playground just around the corner. Breakfast had a lovely spread, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the food too. Banna beach is only a 10-minute drive away, and Tralee is an hour away.

We had an okay stay for two nights. The staff were kind and polite, and helped us with our group’s luggage. There’s a general store right across the street, which was super handy. The rooms could use some attention, especially the carpets. Cleaning the windows would also improve the atmosphere, since you’d be able to see the beach view clearly.
