Ouvane Falls

We stopped on the way West. At first glance the place looked a little tired, but the lovely staff, quick service, and food made it somewhere I'd return to. The fish and chips were great quality and good value.

There wasn't a front desk, so I had to go into the bar to find someone to check me in. The woman was welcoming, had me sign a spiral notebook, and showed me to the room. I was disappointed with the hotel and wouldn't return. The decor being dated didn't bother me, but it needs cleaning and upkeep. The carpet was extremely dirty, especially on the stairs, and there was an unpleasant smell in the hallway like vomit. My room had an unnecessary crib taking up space and dated decor. The bedding looked clean, but the dirty carpet and odors in the hall made me uneasy. They do offer a complimentary made-to-order Irish breakfast. One staff member was doing everything, waiting tables, cooking, and checking people out. I had to follow him into the bar to pay the bill.

We couldn't get out of there fast enough. The room smelled of Clorox, the hallway and stair carpets were dirty and smelled bad, and the shower diverter was broken, leaving scalding hot water that couldn't be adjusted. We were told the bar couldn't serve us dinner because there was a funeral. When we came back for a nightcap, someone from the funeral party vomited on the floor right in front of us. This was a bad deal. I should have read the reviews, since the same problems were mentioned as far back as Covid 19 and clearly haven't been dealt with. The hotel should be condemned. There are better options 20 minutes down the road.

A great place to stay by a beautiful river. Breakfast was included, and they still served it even though I came down later than I'd said I would.
