Nire Valley Eco Camp

We’re already making plans to come back after a magical weekend at Nire Valley Eco Camp. Nature is all around the camp, and we spotted deer and wild birds every day. Breakfast was outstanding, and Ruth took such good care of us, always attentive and willing to go above and beyond.

You’ll need a car to reach the place and explore nearby, but it’s well worth it if you want a weekend to disconnect. Ruth answered all our questions and made us feel at home. Breakfast was incredible, with homemade bread, fresh eggs, seasonal fruit, and juices. The setting is gorgeous, and we were lucky enough to see deer and rabbits wandering about. The accommodation is so unusual, with a bedroom that feels like a boutique hotel room. We had a great weekend, and it felt more like a five-star stay than glamping. I’d give it ten stars if I could.

Deer visited the field at night, and rabbits were about during the day. With the mountain views from the studio, it was such a lovely setting. We had a romantic dinner by the huge side window, with the electric candles and table and chairs, and enjoyed cooking outside under cover from the rain. The whole property feels carefully thought out, with the environment in mind and little impact on nature. Ruth has made a wonderful place. She was such a warm host, and words don’t really do her justice. Breakfast was divine, homemade and brought right to our door at the time we agreed. We loved the simplicity, no fuss, just what you need. The bed was very comfortable, and the studio was well insulated, so we stayed warm even as temperatures dropped outside. We also had a great time with our dog, who was welcome. Even the awful weather couldn’t take away how relaxed and happy we felt. We can’t wait to come back.

We spent five days here as a family of four visiting from Athens, Greece. Even with the December weather outside, the cabins were warm and cozy, and the views made us feel close to nature. Ruth looked after us so well. We’ll miss her kind heart and delicious breakfasts. Love, love, love this place!
