A lovely, very clean lodge with nice rooms and a good breakfast. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the centre, along a road that felt quite scary. Mary gave us a torch, though, and the walk turned into a little adventure.

The room was clean and tidy, we felt very welcome, and breakfast was excellent. We were travelling by motorcycle, and this was a good base: the roads were great fun, especially Corkscrew Hill. It’s a 15-minute walk into the village for dinner, and Doolin Cave is nearby and well worth seeing. Highly recommended. We even pinched an apple from Philip's orchard.

Finding this great lodge takes a little effort since it’s set a bit away from the village, but it’s worth it. The owners are very friendly and chatty, and gave us some helpful tips. We were there during a very hot summer, so the room got quite warm.
