Channel View Bed & Breakfast

The garden is an attraction in itself, and breakfast was great. The room was clean, lovely, and nicely set up, with a stunning view over the water. The electric shower was a bit odd, and you could probably hear it throughout the place. It’s about a 20-minute walk to the town centre, so walking is possible, but you’re alongside the road and need to pay attention.

After ten hours driving and three and a half hours on a ferry, we were so glad to arrive. Margaret had stayed up to welcome us and show us to our front room overlooking the river. “Warm” is the word I think of for Channel View: the welcome, the room, the breakfast plates, even the water. I’d thoroughly recommend it for a peaceful break.

We spent five nights here for a niece’s wedding. Margaret was attentive and very helpful, and the room with its ensuite was really comfortable. The Irish breakfast was excellent, with superb views over the Channel.

The house was spotless and wonderfully quiet, with a fabulous location and lovely views. Margaret was a wonderful hostess, with her husband helping out too. They cooked us a beautiful breakfast fresh. I highly recommend this B&B. A & A Kilkenny.
