Rathmore House

The traditional breakfast was delicious, and we had a beautiful view from our cosy room. Marguerite was such a welcoming, friendly host and made the stay feel special. We had a wonderful time, with warm hospitality and very good accommodation overall.

The hostess was the nicest I’ve ever met. We arrived in the evening after a five-hour drive and I asked whether we could still reach the nearest restaurant before it closed at 8:15. She called to see if they could take us, then drove us there herself. She also helped us find something to do when our original tour was cancelled. Her kindness more than makes up for being a bit out of town; it’s easy to reach by car, and there’s a bus into town. The B&B itself is lovely, with very nice rooms and breakfast cooked to order. I’d highly recommend it.

The owner made us feel welcome and took very good care of us. We stayed in the family room, which was huge and comfortable, and the Irish breakfast was high quality and really tasty. There’s a lovely view from the place. It’s a bit far to walk into town, but driving works fine.

Margaret was a wonderful hostess, and breakfast was among the best we had in Ireland. She even makes her own jam. The rooms were clean, fairly large, comfortable, and had plenty of storage, with a nice ensuite as well. From the house you can see the little cove and on toward Baltimore; the view was incredible and the sunset breathtaking. We enjoyed sitting in the front room and taking it all in. We stayed two nights in October 2019 and loved it in every way. We’d definitely stay at Rathmore again and highly recommend it.
