Breakfast was very good and the host was helpful, but the room was cramped and quite dated, with little attention to detail. One bedside lamp didn’t work, and the plasticky mattress cover and electric blanket were uncomfortable. The bathroom felt like a freezing cell, with an icy floor and no heating or heated towel rail. There was tea and coffee in the residents lounge, but no milk or spoons, and the coffee jar was nearly empty. It was expensive for what we got. Have places like this had their day?

Breda at the fountain house was a joy to meet, so accommodating and a great cook. The B&B was clean and had a warm, homely feel, with a very inviting atmosphere. I only wish we’d stayed longer so we could enjoy the area and talk with her more.

It feels like you're staying in someone’s home, rather than a hotel, and the hostess is so friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the location was convenient. There’s a trail along the waterway that you can walk, and breakfast had lots of options.

The river views from the back were amazing, and the rooms were clean. Breda was a friendly, wonderful host who gave us suggestions for places to visit, including nearby spots for running and hiking. We had a great two-night stay at the Fountain House, and the breakfasts were great too.

We spent over a week staying with Breda while we were there with our fishing team. She took such good care of us and nothing was too much trouble. Having somewhere outside to store our equipment was a real advantage.
