The Martello Hotel

Andrew and I had an amazing three-night stay at The Martello last week. I’d stayed at the Hotel before, but it was Andrew’s first visit. The staff were friendly, kind, and full of useful information. We loved the food, especially the mussels, which were to die for. Well done to everyone, and see you again!

The live music and atmosphere made for a lovely end to Valentine’s weekend. We went for dinner the night after Valentine’s Day, and the staff were fantastic, with fast service and great communication. My girlfriend loved her chicken goujons and side salad, which came with three sauces for the salad and goujons. I had the hot and spicy chicken wings, and they were top notch. For mains, my girlfriend ordered mussels, which were outstanding. We both highly recommend them. They came with a choice of chunky or skinny chips, and both were delicious dipped in the sauce from the oysters. I had the steak sandwich, cooked perfectly and melting in my mouth with the pepper sauce, plus chips. We were too full for dessert, but the menu looked really good. The staff couldn’t have been better. I gave five stars for the rooms and hotel, though we didn’t stay overnight. If we had, I imagine it would have been well worth it.

The sharing platters were good, and the place itself looks amazing. We came for a friend’s birthday and had a really nice time, with lovely live music, good bar service, and a great atmosphere throughout.

We had a lovely lunch, and the food was amazing. The staff were so attentive and kind. There’s an accessible toilet at the back of the bar for anyone who can’t manage the stairs, and it’s dog friendly too. I’ll definitely be back soon.
