Four Seasons Hotel Carlingford

We knew the Four Seasons Hotel Carlingford was our wedding venue as soon as we walked in and met Dermot. The tasteful decor and stunning views impressed us, but it was the enthusiastic team and personal, family feel that made our day special. They really wanted the celebration to be about us. We held both our ceremony and reception there, and the team listened closely to what we wanted and took care of every detail. Their experience and passion came through in how smoothly everything was handled. The food mattered a lot to us, and every course was delicious, plentiful, and as good on the day as at the menu tasting. Guests praised the meals, and they also commented on how friendly and efficient the waiting and bar staff were. Dermot kept checking that everything was running smoothly. Linda and Alana, our wedding coordinators, looked after us throughout the planning, offering advice and recommendations and helping with every little detail. They think of everything. Alana was a joy to work with, extremely efficient and always ready to pitch in. The night before, she carried big boxes while helping unload a van, then just before I walked up the aisle she was behind me making sure my veil and dress were sitting right. We can’t thank you all enough for such an amazing, unforgettable day. It felt like a fairytale, and we’re so glad we got married there. We’d confidently recommend it to any couple looking for a wedding venue.

We had a great stay at this wonderful hotel for a friend’s wedding. It’s beautiful and ideally located, the restaurant food is amazing, and breakfast is cooked to order with fresh produce. The staff were very friendly. For the service and that lovely “I’m in a nice hotel” feeling, it’s probably one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. 10/10.

The dining room meal was delicious, with beautifully prepared and plated food. Breakfast was good, though it could be presented more attractively. We spotted the hotel on Instagram and booked a quick, unplanned break. The room was lovely, with a large comfortable bed and a spotless bathroom. Staff were friendly, helpful and professional throughout. Special thanks to the lovely Asian lady on reception, Ciaran and Taylor in the dining room, who were all so helpful. The town centre is well kept and only a five minute walk away. We’d happily return.

The town centre is only a two minute walk away, and it was great to stroll into town and along the water. Our room was a decent size and had a quaint feel. There’s no AC, but the hotel can provide a fan. Since we were on the ground floor, opening the window while we were in the room worked fine, though we didn’t leave it open overnight. Breakfast had plenty of choices and was pretty decent, but it doesn’t start until 8:30, which felt a bit late. The leisure centre pool is 17 m. There are black lines on the floor for lap swimming, but no clearly marked lap lanes, so families tend to spread out. The only roped-off lane was for lessons. Everyone needs a swim cap in the pool. The hot tub, sauna and steam room were nice, though each fits only six, so it could feel cramped when busy.
