The indoor pool and leisure center are a lovely bonus, and breakfast was fresh and generous enough to set us up for a day exploring Ireland. The Limerick Strand Hotel felt peaceful while still being within walking distance of everything in Limerick. The River Shannon right outside the window made waking up feel calm, grounding, and powerful. Our room was modern, spacious and spotless, and the bed was so comfortable I didn’t want to get up. The stay felt welcoming and a little elevated. It’s the kind of place that makes you appreciate those quiet mornings and every moment. I recommend it 100%.

The location in central Limerick is good, with lovely town and river views. Antonio at reception was very nice and helpful, and the service was very good. Rooms are quite large and clean, with both a bath and shower in the bathroom, which is handy. The swimming pool, gym, steam room and jacuzzi were nice. The bar was pleasant, and breakfast was modest but enough. Dinner was a bit disappointing: only one dish, the salmon with prawns, was really good and tasty. The Caesar salad was a letdown, so I’d suggest eating dinner out. A good place to stay.

The location is excellent, walking distance from Limerick city centre, and the room was extremely spacious and mostly clean and tidy. Staff handled the problems I raised the next morning very well, so I’d recommend the hotel. At check-in, I was left waiting, and after the front-of-house staff member began helping me, they went off to take another phone call. In the room, old Valentine’s decorations had been left behind, and the shower head wouldn’t stay up while I showered. I was disappointed at first, but reception addressed everything after I reported it.

The location was good, and the room was decent overall. The atmosphere was relaxed and spacious, but the stay was nowhere near worth the price. The room had weak shower pressure, an empty soap dispenser and hairs in the bath. The 24-hour room service menu had multiple spelling mistakes, and the options were so poor it seemed like they didn’t want anyone to order from it. The leisure facilities were atrocious. Both jacuzzis were cold and their jets kept switching off. The sauna was cold too. When I arrived, nobody gave me a locker token, so I was expected to bring my own euro. I’ve never had that happen at a hotel. I’d asked reception for directions to the pool beforehand, but they didn’t mention it. I went back to complain about the pool area, and the receptionist said they should have given me a card and wrote down the complaint for the manager. There was no apology or compensation. Bar staff seemed poorly trained and lackluster. Drinks were badly poured, and I was served half a pint of pale ale in a Guinness glass. The buffet breakfast was underwhelming, with cheap instant coffee machines and watery scrambled eggs, at a steep price of 19 euros, reduced to 14 with the guest special offer. They’re clearly just after profit.

We only had one night, but were really impressed by how clean and comfortable the hotel and our room felt. We were lucky to get an upgrade, which was a joy. The pool was lovely, breakfast tasty, and we really enjoyed our short stay.
