The Landmark Hotel

All my interactions with the staff were positive. They were warm and personable, and really are the heart of the hotel. I ate dinner in the bar restaurant and it was delicious. Breakfast was enjoyable too. The continental selection was basic, but the hot table service was delicious and arrived surprisingly quickly. I was there for one midweek night for a family funeral. They let me check in early since the room was ready. I’m a light sleeper and had forgotten to mention it, so I was concerned when I saw the room faced the main road. I asked to change rooms, and they moved me without any fuss. I’d definitely stay again next time I’m in the area.

The guests seemed older, which made for a nice, quiet stay. The rooms were a decent size, with comfortable beds and good bathrooms. We ate in the bar and enjoyed the food, and breakfast was delicious with plenty of options. The staff were friendly and helpful, and a bit of banter with a few of them made it feel like meeting old friends. Hotels can be so formal, so that was a lovely touch. I’ll definitely stay here again.

We came in for food over the bank holiday weekend, and it was pretty good. Our waitress was amazing, I think her name was Lilly, and she was the only one who seemed professional and really excellent. There looked to be lots of staff, but only one person was actually working. I’m not sure who the manager was, but they need to look at how they run that bar. You can’t rely on one person with a bar full of people. Lilly was doing everything at every table. It was madness.

The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We had a wonderful visit to The Landmark Hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon. The food was beautiful, full of flavour and nicely presented, and the desserts were a perfect sweet finish. We really enjoyed the meal and will definitely come back soon.
