There are plenty of comfortable spots inside and outside the house to sit and take in the view, including the breakfast area. Sandy Cove is about 50m from the main entrance, in direct line of sight. The location and view are amazing. I'd recommend this bed & breakfast to close friends and family without hesitation.

The porch has a cosy couch and chairs where you can linger over a cup of tea in the evening. In the morning, waking up to the ocean from bed and having breakfast in the Conservatory with that breathtaking view was amazing. Our hostess made us feel very welcome and at ease.

We felt welcome during our one night here. Perhaps that was because we were the only guests in the house, so our host could give us her undivided attention. The owner is a lovely lady with many years in hospitality. It's a gorgeous B&B in a remote spot, with great views over the Atlantic.

The view from the breakfast table was lovely and calming, and breakfast itself was really nice. Everything was pin clean throughout. It was a pleasure to stay with such a lovely, honest person. One of the gems of Cork.

The ocean view from the breakfast room and Breda's wonderful breakfast make for an unforgettable start to the day. She's unbelievably gracious and hospitable, and takes great pride in making guests' stays memorable. We've stayed at Sandycove house twice and drive well out of our way to return. The views are incredible, and it has that quintessential Irish sea experience. Wherever else we visit in Ireland, we'll make a point of heading to Castletownshend so we can stay at Sandycove House.
