Wilton Castle is calm and beautiful, with a real sense of its history. The restoration has been handled with care, and our spacious, comfortable room had plenty of character. The area around it is incredibly quiet and relaxing, just right for unwinding. A stay we’ll remember.

There’s loads of space, and they really go out of their way to make sure you’re comfortable. The place was even better than the photos and descriptions online suggested. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

I didn’t stay in the accommodation, just stopped by for a quick look, so I can only comment on my impression of the grounds and exterior, not the rooms or services. As Ireland’s top local guide covering historical sites around the country, I’ve seen thousands, and this one ranks among the best. The grounds are large, with a lovely river behind the property, gardens, and a stone bridge further off. The old castle is fantastic to look at, and the entrance and exit bridges over what used to be a moat are amazing. I was impressed by what I saw walking around, including some tunnels leading to and from the property. I only wish it were open to the public, but sadly so many of Ireland’s treasures are privately owned. Cheers.

We stayed in the Alcock suite in mid-September, my wife, son and me. Absolutely magnificent. It has two very large bedrooms and bathrooms, plus a massive living room adjoining the dining area and a huge kitchen. The grounds were beautiful, and with only a few suites, it felt as though the whole castle was there just for us. The price was very good too, and we’ll absolutely stay again.

We spent two nights at Wilton Castle recently with friends, and it was a memorable stay. The castle is stunning, full of character, charm and history, and arriving felt like stepping into another time. We enjoyed quiet walks around the estate, and the location made it easy to explore the surrounding area. It’s a unique place that makes a trip unforgettable. I’d highly recommend it for a magical getaway with friends or family.
