That dinner was the best meal we had in Ireland, and most of the vegetables came from the garden out back. The lounge with its big fireplace and the lovely room for reading made it easy to settle in. We only spent one night here while heading up the coast, but the friendly, accommodating staff and those amazing showers made it a fantastic stop. I took four showers in one night. I'd give it six stars if I could. Seriously consider staying at the Ardagh.

We spent a lot of our time playing snooker and cards in the cocktail lounge by the wood-burning fireplace, which became our favorite part of the stay. The grounds were gorgeous, and we enjoyed spotting the herbs and vegetables used in our dinner. The rooms were clean, the water pressure was strong, and the staff were outstanding. The farm-to-table meal was the best dinner of our two-week trip along the Atlantic coast. Ten out of ten. Make a stop here, even if it's just for a meal. xoxo The Oyster Girl

The restaurant is popular with people who aren't staying at the hotel, which says a lot, and we thought the food was exceptional. The staff were also wonderfully helpful to my wife and me, especially as we're older and somewhat disabled. We had a delightful two-night stay and hope to come back. The Ardagh Hotel faces west up the sea loch, in a magnificent spot.

The food deserves a mention too, especially the fish, and dogs can join you in the bar in the evening. Breakfast is served in a separate room where your dog can come along, which I loved. This was our second stay here with our dog, and it felt like home as soon as we walked through the door, just like last time. The welcome from the staff feels sincere and relaxed, never over the top. The hotel is so cosy, and the rooms are beautiful. I take ages getting anywhere because I keep stopping to look at the art, candles, lanterns, throws and cushions. It feels like a lovely home, and it's clear dogs are adored here. Bruce, the resident dog, is a magnificent greeter and gets plenty of well-earned affection from everyone. It's the most dog-friendly hotel I've stayed in, with incredible service. Dog lovers and anyone after a few special days away would love it. We were discreetly spoiled. Thanks to everyone again. I can't wait to return next year and see Bruce!

Our dog was treated like a princess, and it made the stay feel all the more special. You don't often find somewhere where pets are made to feel as welcome as their people. The staff greeted us so warmly when we arrived. Dan went above and beyond to make things extra special, thank you! We had an amazing time and would happily return. Already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend it for a relaxing getaway with your pet.
