The hosts were so lovely and gave us space, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. Fernwood felt unlike anywhere I’ve stayed: the stilt house has a really distinctive design, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable and high quality. We spent time in the sauna and cold plunge, then watched the sunset through the dome window. The Swedish bath was amazing too, though it takes a while to heat, which is part of the experience. The whole place made it easy to slow down and reset without going anywhere.

Our tree house stay at Fernwood was a real treat. We loved the peaceful feel, the view, and settling in by the fire in the evening. The sauna and the area around it were lovely too. It was just the calm getaway we needed, and Fernwood is a treasure. It’s an experience I’ll remember for a long time.

The walks around Fernwood, into town, and along the greenway were a highlight, and Clifden has great restaurants and quirky shops. We had such a good stay that we’re already planning another visit. It was wonderfully relaxing, with heavenly views and a comforting fire. We didn’t miss having a TV at all, and made plenty of use of the speaker. The sauna took a little getting used to: at first we weren’t sure we liked it, then after the cold plunge and another round in the heat, we were hooked. There really wasn’t anything we disliked.

The Stilt house felt like a work of art, and the location is remarkable: it feels wild and secluded while Clifden is still so close. We only booked two nights and wished we’d stayed three. We tried the sauna on our first evening, then really enjoyed the swedish bath the next night. I’d love to return in Spring or Summer, when the forrest is in full bloom.

The studio house was lovely and just right for unwinding. We had a great stay at Fernwood in both good and bad weather. The sauna was a highlight, especially looking out at the stunning lake view. I’d recommend it to anyone, particularly couples after a romantic break.😊
