The breakfast was homemade and delicious, so I didn't mind that it took a little while. The room's Wi-Fi was slower, but the common area had a better connection and was a nice place to read. We had comfortable beds, our own bathroom, and lovely views. The owners made sure we had what we needed for a comfortable vacation. The location is great too. This was another really good stay, and I'd come back.

We spent several weeks here in the summer of 2012 while doing research in the region, and the hosts made us feel so welcome. We even thought about adopting their dog, but couldn't bring her home with us. The meals were prompt and some of the best we had in Ireland, even after two months of pub crawling from coast to coast. Our room was comfortable, the Mayo countryside view was lovely, the bathrooms were excellent, and the heating worked well, even for us Americans. Parking might be tight when the house is full, but it's a small issue. If we return, we'd go back to Ashfield House in a heartbeat. We're long overdue for another trip.
