Creedons Traditional Welcome Accommodation

Avoid Creedons. The room was filthy, with a stained carpet, holes in the wall, exposed hanging electrical cords, and mold in the shower. It was advertised as a B&B, but there was no breakfast, as the attached picture shows. Nobody was on site for us to complain to, and we weren’t given a refund, so we stayed at another hotel. There’s no parking near the location either. This place felt like a health hazard.

The woman who handed over the keys was lovely and gave us great recommendations. This is a cute little B&B right in central Cork, next to a nice Irish bar with fun music. Some people might find the music loud, but I thought it gave the stay some character. We’d come back.

Creedons is affordable and handy for the city centre, local nightlife and transport. The rooms were clean, and if all you need is a roof for the night, that may be enough. But we were expecting breakfast and a decent night's sleep, and neither worked out. Despite being advertised as a B&B, they don't serve breakfast. The walls are paper thin, and the music seemed even louder with the windows shut. Most nights it blasted on until 4am, so we got no sleep. The rooms are also quite small, and I wouldn't have wanted to stay more than a few nights.

I felt badly overcharged for what this was, and would still have felt robbed at half the price. Don't expect breakfast, daily room cleaning, or anyone on site to help. The reception stayed closed during my whole stay, and the phone number only got answered when it suited them. They only emptied the bin in my room. The room was so cramped I couldn't open my luggage without blocking the bathroom or the door, and I had to carry it up two or three flights of stairs. The listing didn't mention the stairs, though I know that's common in many European buildings. The towels were rough, stained and barely dried anything, as if they'd been in use since 2002. It was cold, below 8C, and they wouldn't turn on the heating. The WiFi barely worked in the room, so I had to go to the stairs to get enough reception to download a WhatsApp audio. The room smelled like a damp dog had been locked in it for at least a week. At night, we could hear the bar music and everything happening in other rooms through walls that might as well have been cardboard. This is a very bad Airbnb room, not a B&B, and I wouldn't recommend it.
