River View Apartment Suite

We paid 684 euros, or $1,111 AUD, for two nights at the River View Apartment Suite in Cork City, about $555.50 AUD per night. We booked expecting five star accommodation, based on the online description, and I wouldn't have paid that amount if it had described what we actually found. I'm writing because I'm deeply frustrated. Photos should reflect reality, not dreams. There was a persistent musty, damp smell throughout the apartment. The scented candle and incense suggested management knew about it. We bought another candle and had to burn it the whole time just to cover the smell. Kitchen sink water was only tepid, so we boiled a kettle to wash dishes. I told management about this by text when we left. The wardrobe was filled with a trundle bed, leaving space to hang just one item. The balcony was fenced off, with old chipped paint, garbage bins in the view, and mops and buckets on it. The woman who gave us the key pointed to a wine dispenser on the wall and said red and white wine came with the apartment, but no wine was provided. As shown in the photos, tiles in front of the bathroom basin had come unstuck and formed a raised lump in the floor. Other bathroom floor tiles were cracked.

A lovely modern place, kept very clean and close to the city centre. Marcy Hospital is a minute away, and there's a beautiful park nearby. Everything worked perfectly. The owners welcomed us with bread, milk, bottled water, juice, fruit and biscuits 😍 Franciscans Well is only two minutes away, and it's my favourite spot for pizza ❤️

The hosts made sure we had what we needed and gave us great tips on places to visit in the city. It's a lovely modern apartment in a great location. I'd happily recommend it for a week or a weekend, and we'll definitely be back soon.

The host sent way too many emails, including one asking for a 250 euro damage deposit.
