Hotel Doolin Houses

Check-in was easy and the receptionists were very nice, and the houses are close to hotel doolin. But I don't think I'd return unless they make improvements. We paid €300 per night, and the place needs money spent on it. Having to climb in and out of the bath to shower was awkward, and the bathroom had only a tiny mirror. The house was freezing when we arrived, and the heating wasn't great even when switched on. The houses looked very tired compared with our stay a number of years ago. It seemed nothing had been done since then: shabby living room furniture, frayed stair carpet, filthy or broken light shades, a big crack across the bath panel, and mold on the bathroom ceiling. There was plenty more, but you get the idea.

We enjoyed everything at Hotel Doolin, but the Pipers Chair houses fell short. The mattresses were uncomfortable, and there were no locks on the bathrooms, which was annoying. The shower pressure was low and it was hard to adjust.

I had the homemade vanilla ice cream with honeycomb and caramel. It was delicious, and I ate it too fast to get a picture.

Back again. It's a great base for seeing the Cliffs of Moher, then having a good meal and enjoying music in Fitzs pub.
