The bathroom fan was rattling because its mount had come loose, but it was fixed while we were having dinner, so it didn’t disrupt our stay. We slept well, though the room got a little too warm. The room itself was cosy and comfortable, and the food was as good as on our earlier visits for stays and meals. We appreciated being allowed to park early while we went shopping downtown, and the warm welcome felt especially nice in the cold, wet weather. The staff were friendly and professional throughout. Christian seemed to be everywhere, making cocktails and coffees, serving drinks and meals, and clearing tables. His work ethic and friendly manner really stood out. Breakfast was memorable, fresh and tasty, with a welcoming, attentive, professional server. Checkout was quick and easy, and could also be done online, though the payment system didn’t let us leave a tip. Thanks to the whole team for making our return overnight visit so enjoyable.

The staff at Scholars and Peggy Moores were wonderful when a few hiccups came up with our complicated trip, and they got things sorted for us. Our room was warm, comfortable, and lovely, and they brought drinks up when we asked. Breakfast was just right, exactly as I requested. We had a fabulous stay and I can’t fault it. I’d happily recommend the hotel and stay at Scholars again.

The food was a highlight, with a lovely dinner and breakfast brought to our table. The hotel had a beautiful old-world feel, and the staff were fantastic and friendly. They also arranged a taxi for us to the TLT. We were impressed from beginning to end, had a lovely experience, and would definitely come back. Highly recommend.

My room had a great view, and the place was quiet, clean, and really cosy, with a quaint feel. The staff were friendly too. They bring complimentary coffee or tea to your room. There are local coffee shops with great treats, and a small grocery store just a few minutes away.

We chose Scholars Townhouse for a family trip to Drogheda last summer, my dad’s grandmother’s hometown, and staying there made the visit feel even more meaningful. The location worked perfectly for exploring both the town and the surrounding area. The room was clean and charming, full of character. You could sense the building’s history while still having the comforts we needed. Breakfast was excellent and a lovely start to each day. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Drogheda, especially if you’re looking for warmth, character, and a strong sense of place.
