I was left very uneasy by how things unfolded with Acara House. After I booked through Booking.com, the host asked me to pay in cash. It seemed odd, but I gave a small business the benefit of the doubt. On June 29th, the weekend I was due to stay, the host messaged to cancel because of a family emergency. The alternative places offered were significant downgrades. Booking.com then told me Acara House had given its support team a completely different reason for cancelling. After that, the host oddly offered to resolve the supposed family emergency so I could stay after all. By then, the conflicting explanations had completely undermined my trust. Based on this experience, I’d urge future guests to be cautious about the establishment’s reliability.
