The staff are lovely, and I'd come back for a cuppa, but I won't have lunch here again. This was only my second visit, after enjoying the first, and I met a family member for a long overdue catch-up. The ambience was lovely, but the food disappointed us. Prices seem to have gone up while quality and quantity have gone down. The €22.50 risotto tasted good, though one ingredient was a bit like chewing bamboo, and the Parmesan chip was hard to chew. The portion was small for the price. My family member's €23.50 Kilmore Quay fish and chips with Smithwicks batter had a small piece of fish, mostly bland batter, thrown on top of the chips. There was hardly any mushy pea puree, and she didn't like the chips and left them. With a cappuccino and a hot chocolate made with coconut milk, the total was €55.50. I paid, but made it clear the food wasn't good. If we'd had more time, I would have sent it all back and cancelled the order, but we had so little time to catch up that I let it go.

Our anniversary week in Dublin was such a good experience that we've decided the historic Buswell Hotel will be our home away from home whenever we visit Ireland. We booked for 6 nights after recommendations from Rick Steves and a family member. It's attractive, clean, and reasonably priced, with quiet, comfortable rooms. The location is handy too, around the corner from Trinity College, St Steven’s Green, several museums, Parliament, and the shopping district. We had the breakfast package, and the restaurant serves delicious meals at affordable prices. Rhys and Elliot, who are brothers, were our favorite servers, professional, personable, attentive, and entertaining. Tania, the maitre’d, looked after us every day. Paddy was the best concierge we've ever had, so helpful each day, and he'll take good care of you too. We highly recommend the Buswell.

Ger made our stay even better than we expected. He was friendly and personable, and really helpful with advice and planning a day trip. The staff were so welcoming too. We loved the comfy beds and the historic building's older features, and the location was perfect. We had an amazing experience at Buswells Hotel. Thank you, Ger!!!

We stayed at Buswells for the Dublin part of our Ireland trip with my multi-generational family, from 16 months to 70, and the team were incredibly helpful, especially with our young twins. They unloaded our luggage and brought it to the room, stored our stroller, and had high chairs ready at breakfast. The rooms were lovely and comfortable, and the onsite bar and restaurant are excellent. The location is great too. We'd absolutely stay here again.

We had lunch in the bar and restaurant, and the food was delicious for a reasonable price. The staff were very pleasant, and I loved the cosy, old style of the place. My husband uses a mobility scooter, though, and the ramp was too tight at the corner and exit. That could be easily fixed and would have made the visit completely pleasant.
