The live music in the evening was a lovely touch, and food was easy to get. We didn't manage to properly try breakfast, though. Our rooms felt clean, the beds were comfortable, the showers were good, and the Wi-Fi worked well. We had two rooms; one was ready for an early check-in around 11, and the other followed soon after. The front desk also booked us a cab without trouble, even when we had to change the time. It's an easy walk of a few blocks to the city centre, while being far enough away to avoid much of the usual city-centre noise. The walls are a little thin, which makes sense in a converted Georgian-style house. It didn't bother me, but light sleepers may want to keep it in mind. We were there for one night and had a lovely stay, even as a stopover in Dublin.

Our room looked onto the back courtyard, where there was noise at night. It wasn't usually an issue, but the weather was hot and we had to leave the windows open. The staff were incredibly courteous and helpful, and the hotel has a really lovely old-world feel. It's reasonably priced too.

We found a spotless, cozy room for all five of us, which was great for a one-night Dublin trip with the kids. The hotel has an authentic, pleasantly old-fashioned feel, and it's right in the city centre. Breakfast was great, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The room was on the small side, though perfectly adequate, and the breakfast was very good and included. Castle Hotel has attractive shared spaces, and the staff were friendly, efficient, and helpful. The loud door slams were the one real problem. There didn't seem to be a way to ease the doors shut, so they banged whenever guests left. It quieted down around 11 pm, then started again about 7 am when breakfast began. I hope the hotel can fix this, as it disturbed sleep and the peace.

We ate in the restaurant several times and really enjoyed the food. Breakfast came either as a full Irish cooked meal there or a continental buffet in the tea room; we preferred the continental option. The restaurant feels cozy, almost like a cavern or wine cellar. The hotel is spread across nine restored Georgian townhouses, so it feels more like a stately home than a modern hotel. There are ornate staircases and lifts to the upper rooms, with little changes in floor level and a few steps here and there. The decor is fantastic, with period paintings, possibly prints, painted ceilings, and sweeping stairs. Room heating comes from water radiators controlled by the hotel, and we found the temperature could be either too cold or too hot.
