The room looked out over the Liffey, and although traffic made it a bit noisy, we were tired enough to sleep through it. My partner and I had a wonderful stay. The bed was comfortable and the private bathroom was fine. Just be aware that the top floor means carrying luggage up three flights of stairs.

The shower was my main complaint. It never got hotter than warm, and I really like a hot shower. It seemed a little pricey for a time outside the main tourist season, though maybe that was the location. Still, it was a pretty nice place. My husband and I were travelling around Europe for our Honeyversary, and after 18 hours on the road, the friendly welcome from the front desk was lovely. The room was small but enough for us, and we could walk to everything we wanted to do. Breakfast was served, but we left before we had the chance to try it.

The staff were lovely people, and the location is great with a nice view over the Liffey. I stayed in room 34, a double room with ensuite. The bed wasn’t very comfortable because the mattress sank, and the place overall felt old and poorly maintained. The shower was grimy, and the carpets on the stairs and in the corridors were old. The dining area needs work too. There’s poor ventilation, so once breakfast cooking started, the room filled with smells and damp air. I couldn’t stand it and took my breakfast to go. The croissants were prepacked, more like brioche shaped as croissants, and looked and tasted just like ones from Aldi. The dining area could be much better. It’s a lovely spot with a lot of potential, but the food was poor and it wasn’t pleasant to stay there. A decent place, though it could be so much more. Such a pity.

The breakfast was very good, with cooked options in several variations as well as cereal, cold meats and cheese. The place is clean but basic, and right on The Liffey, which makes it handy for visiting all the sights. I’d recommend it as a cheaper option for a short stay.

It was clean, the service was polite, and they provided everything they said they would. I enjoyed the place and wish I could give it more than three stars, but the shower was only lukewarm. After travelling, all we wanted was a nice hot shower. We tried at different times in case we’d picked a bad time, but it never got beyond lukewarm.
