Mount Street Luxury Suite

The room itself was nicely furnished and seemed like it could make for a great stay. But we booked two nights because the listing said there was AC, and there wasn’t any. We were on the fifth floor in the 5th unit, with no lift, during a very hot day in Dublin, around 85 degrees when we arrived. I could have managed the stairs if the upstairs had working AC. The manager brought us another fan, which helped move the hot air around, but not cool the room. We opened the windows for a breeze in the evenings and early mornings, though that brought more street noise and the dumpster smell from nearby businesses’ rubbish left out the night we arrived. The included Wi-Fi didn’t work either. The password we were given was wrong, and it stayed that way through the visit, so we used our phone data and couldn’t use the TV, which relies on Wi-Fi. The manager first seemed responsive and said a technician would come at 0930 the next morning, but I don’t know if that happened. When I asked about the Wi-Fi later, she stopped replying. I heard nothing more until I said we’d checked out the following morning, when she wished us a good rest of our holiday. The heat might not have been such a problem without those unusually high temperatures, but AC was a reason we chose the place. The owners or investors clearly put a lot of work and money into renovating the units, but at this early stage they need to communicate problems promptly and respond when things go wrong. Some concession would have been reasonable when the issues couldn’t be fixed. I asked through booking.com whether part of the cost could be refunded and haven’t had a response yet. I’ll update this review depending on the outcome.
