The frosted window in our room let in plenty of light, though there was no view through it. We also had a spacious sink, a heated towel rail, a microwave with a grill, a mini fridge, a sofa, and a curtain dividing the beds from the living area. The hotel sits by the river, which helps shield it from the crowds and noise in this popular part of town, and the nearby road wasn’t very busy. It offers a nice middle ground between pricier hotels and places listed as three stars or less. We’ve stayed in similar four-star hotels, including Aura in Lisbon, Novotel in West London, and a new hotel in Leiden.

We had a lovely stay at the Zanzibar Hotel and would come back. The staff were kind and professional, especially the Argentinian woman at reception and the Spanish man at the buffet. The hotel felt modern and eco-friendly, and the location was great. Our room’s kitchen was well set up, but there were no utensils, so we bought plastic ones. It wasn’t a big deal, just a bit odd. My wife also watered some of the plants in the lobby.

Our studio was spacious and very modern, with a cosy bed and a nice bathroom. Check-in was simple, the staff were lovely, and the location is right in the centre. The hotel, rooms, and facilities were all brilliant. I can’t fault it and would highly recommend it.

The room was clean, the facilities were very good, and the reception team were excellent, especially Kirsty. The breakfast staff were polite and helpful too. We stayed on the 5th floor, and although there was outside noise with the window open, shutting it made the room quiet. The busy ground-floor cafe couldn’t be heard upstairs. The downside was how hot it felt in the lobby, corridors, and room in late April. It seemed like the air-con wasn’t working, even on the lowest setting.

I’ve stayed at Zanzibar Locke on every Dublin trip over the past 2 years, and it’s been consistently good. The rooms are always clean and well equipped, and the security feels reassuring. Staff are welcoming and friendly, and the location is excellent. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Dublin.
