Coolcormack Stud B&B

We loved how peaceful the setting was, with racehorses grazing in the nearby fields, and the B&B sits conveniently between Waterford and Cork, with the Copper Coast also within reach. John Joe and Margo were happy to suggest places to see and things to do. Our spacious suite had a comfortable King bed and thoughtful touches. The farmhouse has been fully renovated, and the owners made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. Breakfast was a highlight. We both chose the filling Full Irish Breakfast, and John Joe's homemade granola sometimes fills the whole house with its lovely toasted smell. They use local ingredients, including free range eggs. I also enjoyed the fresh coffee and John Joe's Irish Coffee. My wife and I had a stay that surpassed what we expected. Between the comfortable room, friendly hosts, good food, handy location, and quiet surroundings, I can highly recommend Coolcormack Stud B&B.

The food was fabulous, especially the best scones I've ever had, and the location worked perfectly for exploring Ireland's southeast coast. John Joe also gave me some lovely ideas for places to visit. I've travelled around Ireland and the world, and Coolcormack Stud B&B is still one of the nicest places I've stayed. John Joe and Margo are caring hosts. Travelling alone, I felt safe and welcome, while still having room to myself. I'd love to stay again.

Finding somewhere that welcomes pets can be tricky, so it was a relief that John Joe fitted us in at the last minute after our other accommodation fell through. It was a peaceful haven for us and our dog, though I wish we could have stayed longer. The room was spotless, with an en-suite and dressing room, and looked out over lovely countryside. Breakfast was wonderful, especially the homemade granola. John Joe even offered to share how he makes it. He also knew plenty about local walks and gave us maps. We’ll definitely return.

We were there for a night in late June while walking St. Declan's Way. John Joe was friendly, funny, and around when we needed him. He made us a spectacular breakfast, and we got to meet Kimmy, the beautiful mare. My family and I were comfortable and felt very welcome. We'd gladly come back.
